A new attraction in downtown Calgary. Kind odd the first time you see it. It’s pretty neat to look at it from every different angle.

Castle Mountain is one of the more distinct looking mountains along the Trans Canada as you head towards Lake Louise from Banff. It stands out from neighbouring mountains with its unique shape and colour. Castle Mountain has been photographed many times over the years, so here’s a different look at this neat looking mountain!

I took a trip out to Banff National Park this weekend. I noticed my annual pass expires at the end of this month so I wanted to get one more trip in! The weather was absolutely beautiful. That allowed me to snap this wonderful photo of Rundle Mountain, just outside of the Banff townsite.

Autumn is Officially Here

Well, this weekend marked the beginning of autumn. But don’t tell Alberta that. The last week we’ve been basking in sunny mid-twenties Celsius days with little to no wind to speak of. It doesn’t really get much better than that at this time of year.

I realize it’s been a while since I posted. When I made this blog it was formed on the idea I’d post a picture everyday… Well let me point out that it’s been 9 months since this started and this is the 30th post. According to my math, I’ve been slacking a bit.

Summer was great. One of the highlights was a trip to Jasper which I spoke of already. I opened a 500px account to showcase some of my photos that I take to supplement what I post here. Those can be viewed at http://500px.com/Alex_Robinson.

Today I went for a drive in Kananaskis down to Peter Lougheed Provincial Park and took the gravel road to Spray Lakes and on to Canmore. It was a perfect afternoon for that. But my car was a dusty mess afterwards!

Vacation in Jasper

Instead of going far away this summer, I decided it was a better idea to hit some beautiful locations in Alberta that are too far for just a day trip.

So the car got loaded up and it was off to Jasper.

If you’ve never made the drive on Hwy 93, better known at the Icefields Parkway, you need to understand something… It is the most scenic drive in the world.
