Let me set the scene…
It’s Friday night, terribly overcast, and I want to shoot a starry sky.
That is a bit of a problem because once I set my mind to something, good luck stopping me. I hopped into my car and drove west after a tip from Preston Kanak that the sky over Banff was clear.
During my trek to the west, I started to get worried that I wouldn’t see any stars at all. The sky was packed with thick, low hanging cloud and it didn’t appear to be letting up, but I continued anyway. Once I got to Canmore, I could see the sky ahead opening up to reveal the tapestry of stars that I had been seeking!
A managed to take a handfull of shots, started a time lapse, but it clouded over again. Too bad…
Next time maybe?
